Sarah Maddern is an Australian artist who has lived and worked in Northern England for the past four years. Her work is the culmination of various processes, including painting, drawing, sewing, collecting, craft and collage, based on her observations of Barnsley town centre where she lives, works and has a studio. Inspired by the extensive travels experienced during this time her work is also influenced by anthropology, architecture, fashion, design, history, antiques, ephemera and collecting.
